THANK YOU

Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments here, via email and SMS. Rani was definately a special child that touched everone whether you had met her or not. It is heartwarming to know that there are so many people that cared for our sweet little princess. Also Chrissy thanks for the flowers they are beautiful.

Well today was a gut wrenching day...we had to tell Josh and Teagan about Rani, as they spent the night with friends. John and I decided that we didn't want them to see Rani in ICU, instead they have the happy memories of her on her birthday. We thought they could handle seeing Rani but not understand or handle everyone in tears and so upset, the situation was overwhelming for me, I can only imagine how they would feel if they were in the middle of it... they didn't need to see that..They took it fairly well, as well as can be expected. We simply explained that Rani's body couldn't fight any longer and that she wasn't in any pain, her passing was peaceful. It was only seconds from when the machines were turned off to her passing, and as the Docs told us it would have happened even with the ventilator on. My baby held on long enough for me to get to the Hospital and say my good byes, with my Mum, Dad and my Brother.

Also we had the Funeral Director come out to make arrangements...something again that I never thought we would have to do...but it looks like her funeral will be on Tuesday. Just waiting for a call tomorrow to confirm that where we want it can fit us in.

We also tried to donate some of Rani's organs (even though at the time I thought it totally unfair, that we should have been recieving a precious organ, not donating), but unfortunately her organs were all to damaged and she couldn't donate anything. BUT please make sure you are on the Donor List.

I hope all the Dad's have a lovely Fathers Day...I am hoping that we will be able to have some laughs...although they are coming more as we remember the good and happy times we had with Rani.

What truly beautiful people you are for trying to donate. Your strength and courage are amazing. I hope you are leaning on your loved ones at times too so that you don't have to keep being so strong. Rani certainly did touch so many peoples lives, far and near! Big hugs to Josh and Teagan and all your family.
Happy fathers day to John and your Dad's.
Thinking of you always!

Hi Mel & John

Happy fathers day to John and your family. Mel, the kids will live with the happy memories of Rani and that is very important. The loss is traumatic enough.

Trying to donate is also a brave thing as you were the ones trying to receive.

All our family are Organ Donors and it is so important to disucss this with the family. As soon as my Sarah turned 17 she put herself on.

I hope the arrangements go to plan and you have some laughs (as you say) on Fathers Day.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love
Parky and Family xxxx

Mel, John, Teagan and Josh,

The days between Friday and Tuesday will be some of the most difficult you will go through but once Rani is laid to rest, you, too, will rest. I cannot explain it but you will feel a little better after Tuesday is over. It seems to signal the turning of another page. I can only relate that to my parents who died three years ago but I think it would be similar for you all.

The laughs and smiles DO come as you remember the funny little things Rani would do.......like her two dums. I think that is precious.

Teagan and Josh,
Your baby sister touched the hearts of so many people. You are a very lucky big sister and big brother to have had such a beautiful little Princess for your Baby Sister.

Sending lots of love and cuddles......

Mel, I think you and John are the most remarkably loving people i have ever met (cybermet?). Your love for your family and others has shone throughout your whole ordeal, always updating your blog to keep your 'extended' cyber family up to date with the princess. And now, with your offering to donate.
Through you, I have learned more about organ donation, have put my name and my families on the register and nagged my friends until they too have done it..I hope more people have learned from you too!.
Rani will alway's hold a special place in our hearts, she will never be forgotten!

Mel (and family),

Although our paths only crossed briefly on the Scrap to the Max group, I remember you, your work and your babies really well. I remember very distinctly the gorgeous layouts of Rani and of you and it was always really clear how much love you have for Rani and your other children. That always shone through.

I'm so so sorry to read about the passing of your beautiful Princess Rani. I can't even imagine what that is like for all of you.

Your strength is amazing, I'm thinking of you all. :(

Mel,

Am really glad that you kept the ICU business away from your kids. I am sure you've made the right decision, and yes you are right, the kids wanted to remember Princess Rani in a happy and cheer ful mood on her birthday.

I am just amazed by you, with your strenght and courage to update us all with the BLOG during your hard times.

Just remember, you are never alone, and you've always got the laughts of Princess Rani to look back onto as the good times.

Your amazing strength is so inspiring. Josh and Teagan will be fine because they have such a special mum. My children are all now well aware of the need to register for organ donation and Amanda being 19 is doing so now.
Love and hugs,
Robyn

Mel your strength and always looking for the good in life amazes me and has touched my life in such a real way.

I think of Rani everyday and the joy that she bought you even though just here for a short time & even in her passing she continues to touch people and this just shows what a beautiful little princess she was and will be held in so many peoples hearts.

My love goes out to all of you and you are in my prayers always.

Hugs, Sal xx
